In a recent genome-wide association study by Gudmundsson and colleagues, two prostate cancer susceptibility loci were identified on chromosome 17q. The first locus, at 17q12, was distinguished by two intronic single-nucleotide polymorphisms (SNPs) in the TCF2 gene (rs4430796 and rs7501939).
