The susceptibility of rats with genetically inherited epilepsy to the genesis and consequences of secondary temporal lobe epilepsy is unknown. Here, we induced lithium-pilocarpine status epilepticus (SE) in Genetic Absence Epilepsy Rats from Strasbourg (GAERS) or in Wistar audiogenic sensitive (AS) rats.
