BACKGROUND: Insufficient sensitivity and specificity of prostate biopsies for cancer detection. OBJECTIVES: Based on evidence from our microarray analyses, we hypothesized that considerable molecular changes precede morphologically detectable malignant transformation of prostate epithelial tissues.
