The epithelial-mesenchymal transition (EMT) occurs commonly during carcinoma invasion and metastasis, but not during early tumorigenesis. Microarray data demonstrated elevation of vimentin, a mesenchymal marker, in intestinal adenomas from Apc Min/+ (Min) mice.
