PURPOSE OF REVIEW: To describe molecular pathways that might be of relevance for a potential pharmacologic therapy of benign thyroid nodules. RECENT FINDINGS: Constitutively activating thyrotropin receptor mutations have been found in about 60% of hot nodules.
