Thrombotic microangiopathy (TMA) is a clinicopathological syndrome characterized by thrombosis formation in the microvasculature of various organs. Included in the broad category of TMA are the hemolytic uremic syndrome (HUS) and thrombotic thrombocytopenic purpura (TTP).
