The biosynthesis of D-threo-tetrahydrobiopterin (DH4, tetrahydrodictyopterin) in Dictyostelium discoideum Ax2 was investigated through the mutant disrupted in the gene encoding sepiapterin reductase (SR) by insertional inactivation.
