A minocycline (MINO)-resistant mutant was isolated from Mycobacterium smegmatis strain Rabinowitschi. Polypeptide synthesis in the cell-free system prepared from the mutant was resistant to minocycline (MINO) because of alterated 30S ribosomal subunits.
