Phospholamban (PLB) is a small transmembrane protein that regulates calcium transport across the sarcoplasmic reticulum (SR) of cardiac cells. PLB self-associates into pentamers within sodium dodecyl sulfate (SDS) micelles, but the oligomeric status of PLB in SR membranes is not known.
