We have identified LIM-kinase (LIMK1 and LIMK2), the only known catalytic protein among LIM-family molecules. Both LIMK1 and LIMK2 phosphorylate (inactivate) cofilin, an actin depolymerizing factor, and induce actin cytoskeleton reorganization.
