Antiviral drug lamivudine has been widely used in the treatment of hepatitis B. However, it was demonstrated recently, that therapy by the drug is related with the selection of viral strains carrying mutations in C-domain of DNA polymerase/reverse transcriptase (YMDD-mutation).
