The human TPTE (Transmembrane Phosphatase with TEnsin homology) gene family encodes a PTEN-related tyrosine phosphatase with four potential transmembrane domains. Chromosomal mapping revealed multiple copies of the TPTE gene on chromosomes 13, 15, 21, 22 and Y.
