Epithelial Na+ channels (ENaCs) are regulated by the phospholipase A2 (PLA2) product arachidonic acid. Pharmacological inhibition of PLA2 with aristolochic acid induced a significant increase in amiloride-sensitive currents in Xenopus oocytes expressing ENaC.
