Endometrial cancer is the most common gynecologic malignancy in the United States and the most frequent extracolonic tumor in hereditary nonpolyposis colorectal cancer (HNPCC). HNPCC patients have inherited defects in DNA mismatch repair and the microsatellite instability (MSI) tumor phenotype.
