We previously proposed a dualistic model for ovarian serous carcinogenesis. One pathway involves the stepwise development of invasive micropapillary serous carcinoma (MPSC) from serous borderline tumor (atypical proliferative serous tumor) to noninvasive and then invasive MPSC.
