Severe neutropenia is characterized by maturation arrest of myeloid cells at the promyelocyte stage of hematopoiesis. We reported that accelerated apoptosis of bone marrow myeloid progenitor cells was observed in both cyclic (CN) and severe congenital neutropenia (SCN).
