We have tested the hypothesis that familial neurohypophysial diabetes insipidus (FNDI) is initiated by a process of autophagy. FNDI is a dominant, progressive inherited disorder characterized by pronounced drinking and urination caused by loss of secretion of antidiuretic hormone (vasopressin).
