Pre-alpha-inhibitor is a serum protein consisting of two polypeptides, the heavy chain and bikunin, covalently linked through an ester bond between the chondroitin sulfate chain of bikunin and the alpha-carboxyl group of the carboxyl-terminal residue of the heavy chain.
