Scirrhous gastric carcinoma, characterized by carcinoma cell proliferation and infiltration with extensive fibrosis in the stroma, frequently causes peritoneal metastasis. We describe here a newly established cell line, OCUM-6, derived from ascites effusion of a scirrhous gastric cancer patient.
