For an in vitro mutant of Streptococcus pneumoniae selected on moxifloxacin four- to eightfold-increased MICs of new fluoroquinolones, only a twofold-increased MIC of ciprofloxacin, and a twofold-decreased MIC of novobiocin were observed.
