The catabolic pathway of N-acetylglucosamine (GlcNAc) in Candida albicans is an important facet of its pathogenicity. One of the pathway genes, encoding glucosamine-6-phosphate deaminase (NAG1) is transcriptionally regulated by GlcNAc.
