Extracellular matrix facilitates anchorage-dependent cell survival via interaction of its arginine-glycine-aspartate (RGD) motif with integrins. In this report, we describe an unexpected, apoptosis-promoting the effect of immobilized RGD (iRGD) on tumor necrosis factor-alpha (TNF-alpha)-induced apoptosis.
