Recent observations indicate the existence of pathogenetically distinct groups of well-differentiated (WD) dedifferentiated (DD) liposarcomas. In the retroperitoneal WD-DD liposarcomas, the predominant phenotype is represented by the aberrant (overexpressed) mdm2+/p53+ wild-type profile.
