In this study, we isolated cDNA encoding lysophosphatidic acid (LPA) phosphatase (LPAP). The amino acid sequence deduced from the cDNA encoding LPAP had 421 residues including a putative signal peptide and was homologous to acid phosphatase, especially at the active site.
