Gene therapy offers the potential of correcting genetic disorders such as cystic fibrosis (CF). By complementing the non-functional endogenous cystic fibrosis transmembrane conductance regulator (CFTR) gene with a functional transgene, we anticipate it may alleviate the disease phenotype.
