Inflammatory neuropathies, which include CIDP (chronic inflammatory demyelinating polyneuropathy) and GBS (Guillain Barre Syndrome), result from autoimmune destruction of the peripheral nervous system (PNS) and are characterized by progressive weakness and sensory loss.
