<h4>ABSTRACT</h4> Ehrlichia canis is primarily a Rhipicephalus sanguineus tick-borne rickettsial pathogen initially identified as causing canine monocytic ehrlichiosis, and infections in people have also been reported in Venezuela, Mexico, and parts of Europe.
