<h4>Background: </h4> The glucose-6 phosphate dehydrogenase (G6PD) enzyme is a cytoplasmic enzyme for all human cells, involves in the pentose phosphate pathway of metabolic reaction. It protects red blood cells from cellular oxidative damage by detoxifying free radicals.
