A subset of patients with hypereosinophilia have a clonal hematologic neoplasm. These neoplastic hypereosinophilic syndromes (HES) can harbor somatic DNA rearrangements involving a PDGF receptor gene, PDGFRA or PGDFRB , most frequently FIP1L1::PDGFRA .
