<title>Abstract</title> <p><bold>Background: </bold>Lipoprotein lipase (LPL) is a glycoprotein enzyme playing a pivotal role in energy and lipoprotein metabolism. It hydrolyzes triglyceride-rich lipoprotein and produces fatty acids as well as monoacylglycerol.
