Liver cancer stem cells (LCSCs) are derived from damaged and transformed Hepatic progenitor cells (HPCs) during precancerous cirrhosis stage. Ras/Raf/MAPK and PI3K/AKT/mTOR signaling pathways are significantly deregulated in liver cancer.
