The human platelet antigens (HPA1-5) in the Polish population were investigated using the PCR with sequence specific primers (SSP). The HPA gene frequency was: 1a--0.874, 1b--0.126; 2a--0.898, 2b--0.102; 3a--0.592, 3b--0.408; 4a--1.00, 4b--0.00; 5a--0.937, 5b--0.063.
