The responses to antifolates of Toxoplasma gondii were investigated by measuring the dihydrofolate reductase (DHFR) activity, quantity of DHFR mRNA, and single-strand conformational polymorphism (SSCP) pattern. Pyrimethamine (PYM) and methotrexate (MTX) were tested as antifolates.
