Initial and relapsed childhood acute lymphoblastic leukemias (ALL) were investigated for mutations and expression of deoxycytidine kinase (dCK). dCK mediating toxicity of 1-beta-D-arabinofuranosylcytosine was analyzed semiquantitatively by RT-PCR and by single-strand conformation polymorphism.
