CCAAT/enhancer binding protein (C/EBP) epsilon is a recently cloned member of the C/EBP family of transcription factors and is expressed exclusively in cells of hematopoietic origin. The human C/EBPepsilon gene is transcribed by two alternative promoters, Palpha and Pbeta.
