Patients with polycythemia vera (PV) have a high risk of thrombosis. However, thrombosis is not sufficiently predictable with standard diagnostic procedures. We report on a patient with PV and recurrent thrombosis who nevertheless had a low platelet count while under therapy with hydroxyurea.
