Reverse transcription and the polymerase chain reaction showed that the alpha-, beta- and gamma-subunit genes of nicotinic acetylcholine receptor (AChR) in human skeletal muscle were expressed in myasthenia gravis (MG) thymuses (3 thymomas and 7 hyperplastic thymuses).
