Three mutants were identified in a genetic screen using an INO1-lacZ fusion to detect altered INO1 regulation in Saccharomyces cerevisiae. These strains harbor mutations that render the cell unable to fully repress expression of INO1, the structural gene for inositol-1-phosphate synthase.
