To study the structure/function relationship and enzymatic properties of human aldolase C, we have constructed an Escherichia coli expression plasmid, pHAC11, for the isozyme. E. coli cells carrying this plasmid produced enzymatically active human aldolase C. The kcat and Km values for fructose-1,6-bisphosphate (Fru-1,6-P2) and fructose-1-phosphate (Fru-1-P) of the recombinant enzyme were found to be similar to...
