The reaction between trans-diamminedichloroplatinum(II) and single-stranded oligonucleotides containing the sequence d(GXG) (X being an adenine, cytosine or thymine residue) yields trans-[Pt(NH3)2[(GXG)-GN7,GN7]] intrastrand cross-links.
