Monascus fungi are valued for their production of Monacolin K (MK), a bioactive compound with recognized lipid-lowering and multifunctional properties. To enhance MK yield in solid-state fermentation, this study combined atmospheric and room-temperature plasma (ARTP) mutagenesis with L-arginine supplementation.
