BACKGROUND: Obsessive-compulsive disorder (OCD) is a common neuropsychiatric disorder with a strong genetic component. Previous studies have suggested a role for the dopamine receptor genes in OCD with the dopamine D3 receptor (DRD3) gene being relatively overlooked.
