Fibronectin (Fn) is an extracellular matrix glycoprotein with mechanosensitive structure-function. Extra domain A (EDA) Fn, a Fn isoform, is not present in adult tissue but is required for tissue repair. Curiously, EDA Fn is linked to both regenerative and fibrotic tissue repair.
