Seasonal Malaria Chemoprevention consisting of monthly administration of amodiaquine/sulfadoxine-pyrimethamine to children aged 3-59 months during the transmission season could promote SP-resistance. Mutations in dihydrofolate reductase (Pfdhfr) and dihydropteroate synthase (Pfdhps) genes were assessed before and after SMC adoption in Burkina Faso.
