BACKGROUND: Ponatinib (Iclusig) is an oral tyrosine kinase BCR-ABL inhibitor for treating patients with Philadelphia chromosome-positive acute lymphoblastic leukemia (Ph+ ALL) and chronic myeloid leukemia (CML) who are resistant to the therapies with other tyrosine kinase inhibitors.
