Isocitrate dehydrogenase 2 (IDH2) is a homodimeric enzyme that plays an important role in energy production. A mutation R140Q in one monomer makes the enzyme tumourigenic. Enasidenib is an effective inhibitor of IDH2/R140Q. A secondary mutation Q316E leads to enasidenib resistance.
