Hairy cell leukemia (HCL) is a B-lymphoma induced by BRAF(V600E) mutation. However, introducing BRAF(V600E) in B-lymphocytes fails to induce hematological malignancy, suggesting that BRAF(V600E) needs concurrent mutations to drive HCL ontogeny.
