Tissue engineering approaches such as the electrospinning technique can fabricate nanofibrous scaffolds which are widely used for small-diameter vascular grafting. However, foreign body reaction (FBR) and lack of endothelial coverage are still the main cause of graft failure after the implantation of nanofibrous scaffolds.
