The polymorphic bacterial oncoprotein, CagA shows geography-dependent variation in the C-terminal Glu-Pro-Ile-Tyr-Ala (EPIYA) motifs; East-Asian H. pylori isolates carry the ABD type while Western isolates carry the ABC type.
