Background: Cancer-related cognitive decline (CRCD) has been linked to apolipoprotein E (APOE) gene ε4 polymorphisms. APOE ε4 polymorphisms are also the strongest genetic risk for late-onset Alzheimer disease (AD), whereas ε2 polymorphisms protect against AD.
